WHO WE ARE
Our Story
Welcome to my Latest venture! My name is Lisa Garcia De Quevedo, born and raised in Puerto Rico. Some of you may know me as Lisa Cupcakes from my bakery Little Cupcake Shop & www.lisasugarandspice.com And if you are more of a GenX, back in the late 90's - early 2000's I owned for 13 years a Boutique called The Closet, House of Styles. Back then, I was known as Lisa Closet… LOL! During all those years I was lucky enough to have such great teammates & assistants that I gained more friends adding a few more to my “good friends” circle.
This new journey sprung out of love and necessity for my tribe. My tribe is a group of women who have supported each other through the joyful and difficult times. Life gets complicated…children, work and managing schedules to see each other was challenging. There were months that passed without any contact with them. And so we began to meet up at the gym, or at a Yoga class, Fit Boxing classes and now beach tennis. After our workout we try to grab a coffee or a bite to eat. This way we got to spend some quality time together while getting a good workout.
This led to the most asked question among all inquiries… “what am I going to wear?” Or “ What are you wearing”
What are you wearing?
This is the reason I started Olichy. I wanted to answer this question for my tribe by providing options that are durable, uniquely fashionable yet comfortable and body conscious. My circle of friends is filled of so many different personalities, professions, shapes & sizes. I think it’s what makes them all that special. And that’s where I Got my inspiration for the design of all the pieces for the exclusive Olichy Collection.
Pieces that not only can be used for a workout but can be mixed and matched to be used for a beach day, as well as mixing them in to your daily wardrobe.
I admire each and every one of these women! They are a true inspiration. They manage so much! From being great dedicated mothers, single mothers, wives, to being loving daughters, taking care of parents, being teachers of life, cooks, etc and yet juggling their jobs & professions too.
That’s where the Octopus Icon comes in. We mange so much, we are definitely like Octopuses.
Octopuses has 8 arms (could manage a lot), 3 hearts (can love more), large eyes (can see everything).
Octopuses are creatures that display incredible flexibility, creativity, intelligence, and psychic ability. The octopus symbol represents our ability to overcome challenging situations with creativity and intelligence. The Octopus reminds us to express ourselves even if our instincts say otherwise. Exactly how I would describe my girlfriends!
